Description

First light with this new Epsilon 160ED. I paired it with Player One's new Poseidon camera and Astronomic Deep Sky RGB and MaxFR filters.

The Player One OAG hits the focuser housing on the Epsilon, so I had to use a guide scope instead. In talking to Sean at Player One they have already started manufacturing an updated housing for the OAG that will not do this, and they'll be sending that over once it's done being made (in the next month).

I wasn't sure how well the Epsilon would work in my bortle 9 skies, but one night on this target turned out really well. Compared to the recent TOA-130 image I took it's a lot brighter given a similar amount of integration time. We had poor seeing last night, but HFR measurements showed the average frame was around 1.70 with frames towards the morning reaching 2.2 as humidity increased.Hocus focus was fairly easy to dial in, but didn't like measurement sizes larger than about 20 steps per measurement.
